Stress is often only related to negative pressure, for example with pressure for exams at school or work pressure. This whereas we also know positive stress. Imagine when you are celebrating your birthday and all your friends and family are coming. You were looking forward this day for so long and then it is this important day to you. This day you will feel stress, but positively. Extreme stress, however, may trigger seizures in some people. So this can happen both during exciting events a person with epilepsy loves as during events the person with epilepsy is negatively stressed about. It is important for people with epilepsy to recognize their own signs and symptoms of stress and to use strategies that they find helpful to reduce their stress levels if they experience that stress stimulates seizures.
